Headline News Back from holiday and received a Message from Russell Tanner to say that on Friday Night Cody McDonald signed for Maldon Town. and should play tomorrow night (Tuesday) against Stanway Rovers at Colchester Utd's Training ground. Russell will be giving me his regular news bulletin on Wednesday After Dean Parrott left the Club, Manager Russell Tanner moved quickly to retain Stuart Nethercot as his assistant manager. As promised, please find below my notes covering the news to date that
has occurred during the summer.
Firstly I would like to comment on the departures of the club.
Unfortunately we have lost the services of last season's captain, Ollie
Blackwell and vice captain, Frank Everitt. This was not through my
wanting but, Ollie has gone to AFC Sudbury as he has recently moved to
the area and Frank has joined our neighbours Heybridge Swifts. Both
players go with warm thanks for all their efforts during their time at
the club and I wish them well for the new season.
Also departing is my assistant player manager, Dean Parratt. Dean has
been a fantastic loyal servant to the club and I know if circumstances
were different he would still be here. I will not inform you of reasons
but lets just say they are personal and that is how they shall remain. I
would personally like to think him for all his efforts in assisting me
last season and wish him well in whatever he opts to do next.
So with Dean's departure I have acted quickly to replace him and I am
please to announce that Stuart Nethercott has agreed to become my
assistant manager for the coming season. Stuart will bring a wealth of
experience and energy to the dressing room and training pitch and will
be a great addition to the club. Stuart joined in with the training last
night and will starting his coaching tomorrow at the club at 1030am.
With this signing and hopefully more in the pipe line the future looks
extremely promising and we both look to a very successful session.
